Most piano manufacturers recommend you have your piano tuned at least twice per year, while new pianos may need to be tuned 3 or 4 times in the first year.
There are approximately 16,000 parts in a piano. Environmental conditions can affect musical tone and the wood finish. Perfect relative humidity for a piano is 42%. Ideal temperature is between 60-80F
The proper location for your piano is very important. It is recommended to place your piano where temperature and humidity do not change drastically. Do not place your piano near a heat source such as fireplace or radiator. Keep your piano away from a window or doorway that will be exposed outside conditions often. Avoid direct sunlight to wood finished pianos.
